At their meeting on Thursday, Aug 25, the Central County Fire & Rescue (CCFR) Board of Directors passed a resolution to place Proposition L on the Nov. 8, 2016, ballot. Prop. L is a proposal to provide funding for advanced medical training and equipment for existing firefighter/EMTs and to hire additional firefighter/paramedics.
Kids can learn what it’s like to be a firefighter (without the danger) at CCFR Kids Fire Academy. Campers will spend the day at five activity stations trying out real firefighting equipment like fire hoses, thermal imaging cameras and fire extinguishers, seeing fire trucks up close and learning how they work, experiencing first-hand some of the other firefighter/EMT duties, and playing fun firefighting games.
