Keith Hargrove, Central County Fire & Rescue's Inspector, has been a full-time firefighter since 1981. He started as a volunteer in 1977.
"Charlie Bethmann came to me and asked if I would like to become a volunteer firefighter for the fire district," Keith says. "He said that they were always looking for volunteers, and that it was a great way to help the community."
Meeting people is Keith's favorite part of being a firefighter. As a firefighter, you never know what your day is going to be like or what kind of call you'll get.
Keith says what sometimes surprises people about him are that there are no surprises -- what you see is what you get.
Outside of work, Keith enjoys hunting, fishing, riding his Harley-Davidson and doing things with his grandkids.
