The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a preparedness program supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which joins together the Central County Fire & Rescue and the St. Peters Police Department. Promoted in 1994 by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the CERT program became a cautionary step that departments took after a series of earthquakes which left U.S. and Mexican civilians dead and without proper treatment. The CCFR and the St. Peters Police Department are use the CERT program as a source in their training, making sure that its community is safe should anything occur.
