The Central County Fire & Rescue Protection District (CCFR) was organized in 1998 when the St. Peters and St. Charles Fire Protection Districts consolidated by a vote of the residents of both districts.
CCFR currently provides emergency services to approximately 90,000 residents in a 72-square-mile area.
Full-time Firefighters/Paramedics staff six stations 24/7. This group of passionate, well-trained, professional firefighters works with the community to keep residents, commerical buildings and drivers safe. Together with the community, CCFR has achieved one of the lowest commercial/industrial fire loss rates in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
CCFR works daily to keep its residents safe. Some of its annual duties include:
- Responding to more than 7,000 calls for emergency services including building and vehicle fires, automatic alarms, automobile crashes and emergency medical responses.
- Issuing hundreds of fire prevention permits and conducting thousands of safety inspections through the Fire Prevention Bureau.
- Performing hundreds of public education events reaching more than 25,000 people.
- Installing hundreds of complimentary smoke alarm in residents’ homes.
- Inspecting and installing hundreds of car seats — at no charge — for families in the district.
