Traveling on and around Interstate 70 between Cave Springs Rd. and Route 79 is about to get easier for emergency responders and the community.
The City of St. Peters, in conjunction with St. Charles County, is planning access improvements for Interstate 70 (I-70) between the Cave Springs Road interchange and the Route 79 interchange. According to city officials, this project, along with scheduled changes to the Mid Rivers Mall Drive interchange, will help improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety by providing easier access at the interchanges.
The project will also include corridor enhancements such as bike and pedestrian accommodations, way-finding, signage, and aesthetics. “This project has the potential of making our emergency response safer and more effective,” explains CCFR Chief Russ Mason.
The community is encouraged to provide feed back on the plan at an upcoming public meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, from 4- 7 p.m. at City Hall (located at One St. Peters Centre Blvd., St. Peters, MO 63376). Citizens are encouraged to come by anytime to view plans and give their input. The meeting will be held open house style – there will be no formal presentation.
