Current Fire Station #5 Challenges

• Does not meet the needs of today’s equipment
• House is too small to house up-to-date rescue equipment
• Less than a 28-inch clearance between wall and truck in many cases
• Does not allow the door of the fire truck to be fully opened
• Ceilings are too low for modern fire trucks
• Can only house three firefighters
• Land owned by Missouri American Water Company
• Aging building has a history of mold
