Mendy O’Day
Administrative Assistant
Served Since 2018
Central County Fire & Rescue (CCFR) administrative assistant Mendy O’Day is no stranger to the fire service.
“I have a great admiration for firefighters, and CCFR is one of the best district’s around,” says O’Day, who worked as a firefighter/EMT with Boone County Fire District in the 1990s and was one of the original members of the Missouri Urban Search and Rescue Task Force. “I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to work with such amazing people.”
O’Day, who joined the district full time in October 2018, says every day is different in her office, with much of her time spent on bookkeeping and other record keeping to meet regulatory requirements.
“I spent the past 17 years at home raising my family and running my own jewelry company,” O’Day says. “I think that my favorite part of the job is coming into an office and interacting with the public and other members of the district.
“I also have a math brain and I’m very analytical, so I enjoy the challenge of handling the day-to-day operations for the finance department.”
In her free time, O’Day enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their four sports-loving kids.
