Tim O’Mara
Assistant Chief of Administration
Served Since 2010
Tim O’Mara became a firefighter because he wanted to serve the community that helped raised him. He has been with Central County Fire & Rescue since 2006.
What’s Tim’s favorite part of the job? “Helping people. There is no greater joy than when you show up on someone’s darkest day and make a difference,” he says.
Tim adds that there are no typical days at the firehouse. “We show up for work not knowing what the day may bring. The only thing that is typical is helping the community through the hard times and educating through the good times.”
Tim also says it doesn’t matter if you’re having a bad day, or are tired and busy. Someone needs your help. Within one minute, he says, the crew is in the truck ready to take on whatever is thrown at them. And he loves the opportunity to help others.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys fishing and spending time with his family.
