CCFR Wins Blood Drive Competition

Blood drive winnersCentral County Fire & Rescue wins Red Cross Battle of the Badges Blood Drive competition.

More than 500 people turned out to help save lives by donating blood during the Red Cross’ Battle of the Badges blood drives.

Participating fire departments and law enforcement agencies battled to recruit the most presenting blood and platelet donors at a series of blood drives that were held from December 10 through 29. Everyone who participated was given the chance to vote for a fire department or law enforcement agency. Central County Fire & Rescue (CCFR) received more votes than any other entity.

“We are proud of all of those who took the time to give the gift of life at these blood drives,” says CCFR Chief Russ Mason. “This is a great example of how our community and fire district can come together to help those in need.”
